We've bought some crap players over the past few years.
When was the last time we bought a player and sold for more money than we paid for him ?
Sébastien Haller paid 45 million Sold for 20 million
Albian Ajeti paid 10 million sold for 5 million
Felipe Anderson 34 million sold for 2 million
Andriy Yarmolenko paid 18 million - released
Lucas Pérez paid 4 million - released
Fabián Balbuena paid 4 million -released
Xande Silva paid 1 million sold for 200k
Jordan Hugill paid 9 million sold for 3 million

£22m for Ayew was a disaster. Not sure how much we paid for Hernandez but I suspect his wages were high.

Subjective nonsense thread.
The transfer fees in most cases are made up with staged bonus payments based on performance. In a lot of cases we never paid anywhere near the headline transfer fees posted up. Some of these were not crap but never picked or in the case of
Fabián Balbuena in particular were good value for the money - Wish we still had him for this weekend!
The real waste of money is in the salaries we were paying for players sitting on the bench or on the treatment couch. In some cases that's just bad luck that you get a serious injury but with players like Dyer, Carroll and Wilshire it was know they were fragile and it's a criminal waste of money.

Andy Carroll is an obvious one. Brilliant when he could be bothered/was fit.
Keiron Dyer. Broke down more than an old three-wheeler.

Arnautovic bought for 20m sold for 22m although may of been some add ons paid to Stoke

Biggest waste of money for me was all the shit Harry spent the Rio money on (Rob Jones, Gary Charles Titi Camara Song etc.

Yarmolenko was ok value for the money paid. He was still playing up until he left.
